2005-08-15 - 7:00 p.m.

i have a new job. i'm actually really excited about it. i'm helping my friend as a freelance real estate photographer. i did my first two shoots today. here is what i have learned so far.

  1. make the space seem as large as possible.
  2. show a lot of floor.
  3. when in doubt, bracket like mad.
  4. do not shoot the backs of things (especially couches and chairs).
  5. underexpose for windows.
  6. never take pictures of toilets.
  7. reduce visual clutter.
  8. all tables should have a bowl. all coffee tables should have a magazine.
  9. find the focal point of a room.
  10. pretend that you care.
