things i have recently learned:

• when someone tells you they have really amazing taste in music, it's quite likely that they don't. they may even think that radiohead is cutting-edge.

• one piece of lasagna is not enough of a cushion if you're entering an informal whiskey-drinking contest.

• women lie about their appearance and sexual preferences more often than men do.

• there are cat people, and there are dog people, and never the twain shall meet.
