2003-02-16 - 11:37 p.m.

i'm watching acres of white white white sift gently onto the sugar factory parking lot. i've never been so obsessed with the weather as i have during the winters here in nyc.

slow and lazy sunday. F and i had both our scheduled events cancelled. he suggested we rearrange part of the apartment, and to my own surprise, i thought it was a good idea. usually i resist any changes to the apartment like a vampire resists a suntan. but he got to rearrange his desk area so he can use his drawing table and i got to set up a little work area for my accumulation of digital audio equipment. i'm trying to overcome my gear fear and i think the new setup will help.

somany goddamn alerts to keep track of these days. there's a severe weather alert and i guess we're expecting up to a foot of snow. normally i scoff but i can see it falling fast and heavy outside. F and i already joined the hungover hipsters on the ave for some blizzard shopping. in the health food store, the newsradio was announcing the closure of BWI airport. we both froze in our tracks, until we realised it was due to weather, not terrorism.

i spoke to my parents today and was happy that they didn't get trampled in a last-minute run for duct tape. mom said she thought it was bullshit, too. but they are the ones who laid in cash and supplies for the millenium, so i wanted to check in.

it is possible that neil young's 'zuma' is the greatest rock album ever.
